A physical fixative does not intervene through odour but through evaporation – it lowers the volatility of the light components and pulls the drydown straight.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAn important distinction:\u003c\/strong\u003e a low-volatility solvent such as DPG, benzyl benzoate or \u003ca href=\"\/en\/products\/isopropylmyristat-ipm-99-losungsmittel-tragerol-parfumerie-rohstoff\"\u003eisopropyl myristate\u003c\/a\u003e is not a fixative. It dilutes and carries a formula but barely touches the evaporation. An eau de parfum with 80% ethanol stings on application, particularly after shaving. We quote the figure because “plant-derived” would be misleading without it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEU microplastics regulation:\u003c\/strong\u003e Glucam™ P-20 is a liquid polymer and, according to the manufacturer, does \u003cstrong\u003enot\u003c\/strong\u003e fall under the restriction on synthetic polymer microparticles under Regulation (EU) 2023\/2055. That regulation covers solid microparticles, not liquid polymers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePurity:\u003c\/strong\u003e no antioxidants and no preservatives added. None of the 26 declarable fragrance allergens is to be expected. No VOC content. Heavy metals below the detection limit of 20 ppm (arsenic 2 ppm). The Cosmetic Ingredient Review classified the substance group as safe at the usual use concentrations in 2016.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA note on the undiluted material:\u003c\/strong\u003e the safety data sheet assesses eye irritation by read-across as non-irritating. The CIR review, however, cites a test on the material itself in 100% form, where it is classed as a mild, transient irritant.
